Tucson and Back

We made it back from Tucson this weekend and had a wonderful trip. We are now experts on identifying catci and desert birds, knowing that the javelina is not a pig and learning just hot the desert can feel even if it's only in the 70's. My folks met us out there for half the trip and Morgan learned that there is no such thing as a fully retired professor. At one point during the trip she asked Baba if he was teaching her a class or what. Growing up with this my whole life, I found this comment quite amusing. (Love you Dad!)

I have lots of photos to sort through and I'm waiting on a photo disk from my folks since there were several times I forgot my camera or forgot to change the batteries.

Until then, here are a couple of pictures of the Sonoran Glass Art Academy (courtesy of my mom's camera) where they offer Blow Your Own classes for everyone. My mom created a bowl while Morgan and I each made an ornament. Morgan thought this was the coolest thing ever and wants to do it again some day. I was just glad that we all made it out of there without any 1st or 2nd degree burns.

My ornament turned out huge. Apparently I'm able to blow a lot of hot air.

She picked a pink and blue base with green sprinkles put on at the end.

Because the ornament needs to go into a 700 degree kiln to slowly cool off, we have yet to see our finished products. They shipped them to us last week so we should have them by Thursday or Friday. I'll post those pictures when they become available.
Stay tuned.
